1 Namdaemun Market

The largest market in Korea. Countless shops and street stall line its alleys, selling clothes, household items and food. As the place is famous for its reasonable prices and the generous hospitality characterizing traditional markets, almost half of foreign tourists who visit Seoul are known to stop by the market.

1-1 Sungnyemun Imported Goods Market

This is where shops selling various imported goods including kitchenware, accessories and food products are gathered.

1-2 Food Alleys

There are a lot of food alleys in Namdaemun Market, where wnag mandu (giant-size dumplings), kalguksu (noodle soup) and galchi jorim (braised cutlassfish) are especially popular.

2 Sungnyemun (gate)

This is Korea's National Treasure No.1. The wooden structure was completed in 1398. Also known as Namdaemun (Great South Gate), this gate served as the main entrance through the fortress walls of Hanyang. It was partially destroyed by fire in 2008 and restoration was completed in 2012.

3 Namsan park

Formed aroun the 262m-high Namsan Mt., it is the largest park in Seoul. Visitors can stroll through its shady forests and look around diverse attractions such as N Seoul Tower, Palgakjeong (pavillion), Botanical garden and National Theater of Korea.

Namsan Oreumi - An inclined escalator that enables visitors to go halfway up the mountain conveniently.

4 N Seoul Tower

Namsan Mt. is the best location from which to gaze down on the city of Seoul. N Seoul Tower is a 236.7m-high tower - the 10th highest tower in the world - built on the mountain. Visitors can be whisked up to the observatory by a high-speed elevator, visit the Teddy Bear museum or dine at the restaurant in the sky lounge that revolves 360 degrees.
